Services
The practice is equipped with the latest dental technology. We have a digitalised x-ray system which helps to cut down on radiation exposure to the patient and helps with diagnosis of problems. We have an OPG machine, which allows a full mouth comprehensive x-ray. We also perform an oral cancer screening at each exam. Gum health is a real priority and our dental hygienist, Yvonne Power focuses on this area.
We like to see children patients (ideally before they have problems), as creating a happy positive environment helps cut down on dental phobia later in life. Putting sealants on the new adult teeth helps prevent decay. Seeing patients early can help diagnosis of problems such as tooth crowding.
Cosmetic dental treatment is something people are becoming more and more interested in. Options such as tooth whitening, veneers, crowns and bridgework have helped to restore people's confidence in their appearance. Other procedures like root canal treatment allow us to save teeth that would previously have been extracted. It's amazing how many people will refuse to smile or cover their mouth in photos. Even doing white fillings as a standard procedure have been a great advance in modern dentistry.
For nervous patients we like to take a slow approach. If possible it is best to do no actual treatment at the first appointment but rather spend time discussing the options and building confidence. An oral sedation tablet is a useful approach for extreme cases and helps people who are nervous and need a lot of work done.
We are very aware of the current financial climate. Patients covered by PRSI are entitled to a free examination every year. For private patients we offer a free examination at the first visit, for those having treatment. There is a tax refund of 20% available for advanced dental treatments including gum treatment visits to the hygienist. We will organise this for you. Finally we can offer further discounts on multiple treatments and flexible payment options for advanced work.
